Apprentice Technician - Overnight Kitchen Exhaust Hood Cleaner

We are already one of the largest and best hood cleaners in central Iowa. Our vision is to be the largest and best hood cleaner in all of Iowa. We need dedicated, hard working technicians who take pride in a job well done to help us meet this goal.
As an Apprentice Technician, you will work on a 2 to 3 person crew and be responsible for removing all the grease from commercial kitchen hood systems. Our team will train you on everything you need to know to thrive. No previous experience with hood cleaning required, we got you!

- You are not likely to follow what you are taught in training and apply it with gusto
The Job:
- Responsible for removing all grease from kitchen exhaust hoods, ducts, and fans by physically scraping, applying chemicals, and spraying with high pressure hot water.
- Make the hood shine by polishing the metal after all grease is removed - make it look brand new
- Wow the customer by leaving the kitchen cleaner than when you arrived
- Work as a team to make sure the job gets done efficiently
- Work varying shifts overnight Monday through Thursday
- Complete multiple jobs throughout the night
- Use our app to document each job
- Keep your tools and van clean and organized
- Solve issues by implementing what you learned in training and our experience, referring to process, and collaborating with other technicians
Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Be nice! I know, we shouldn't have to say that, but we mean it
- Able to bend, climb, kneel and stand for long periods
- Physically able to lift 50lbs
- Willingness and ability to use a 24 foot extension ladder to access rooftops
- Willingness to go onto tall roofs to complete jobs
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
- Eligible to legally work in the United States
The Journey to Junior Technician:
- Our apprenticeship program provides hands on training.
- During the first two weeks you will focuses on learning the basic anatomy of a kitchen exhaust system, be introduced to the tricks of the trade for cleaning the systems with our specialty tools, and learn about our company policies and quality expectations.
- The following weeks provide you time to hone your newly learned skills in a supportive environment focused on your success. Learning the basics is easy. Mastering the skill takes time.
- You will receive regular feedback on your successes and areas of focus to help you succeed.
- Once you show competency as an apprenticeship and pass all knowledge tests, you graduate to a junior technician and become eligible for performance based pay of up to $25 per hour.
