Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning - Lead Technician
HOODZ is the largest and leading commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning company in our industry. We are currently hiring for our Lead Technician position.
The Lead Technician will be responsible for performing and overseeing commercial kitchen exhaust system cleaning services in accordance with company standards and industry regulations, including NFPA 96. This role leads field technicians on job sites, ensures high-quality service delivery, maintains safety compliance, and serves as the primary on-site representative of the company with clients.
As a Lead Technician for HOODZ, your job responsibilities will include:
Field Operations & Service Execution
- Lead and perform cleaning of commercial kitchen exhaust systems including hoods, ductwork, fans, and filters.
- Ensure all cleaning services meet company standards and industry compliance requirements.
- Inspect systems for grease buildup, fire hazards, and operational issues.
- Apply proper degreasing chemicals and pressure-washing techniques to restore systems to compliance standards.
- Document work completed, including before-and-after photos and service reports.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and guide technicians during service operations.
- Assign tasks and ensure crew members follow safety and operational procedures.
- Train new technicians on equipment use, cleaning procedures, and safety protocols.
- Maintain productivity and efficiency during jobs.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety procedures including ladder safety, roof access protocols, PPE usage, and chemical handling.
- Ensure work is completed according to fire code requirements and company quality standards.
- Maintain awareness of job site hazards and implement risk mitigation practices.
Customer Interaction
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients while on-site.
- Communicate service details, findings, and recommendations professionally.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and represent the company in a professional manner.
Equipment & Vehicle Management
- Maintain company vehicles, pressure washers, tools, and cleaning equipment.
- Ensure equipment is properly stored, maintained, and operational before and after each shift.
- Track supplies and report inventory needs.

- A valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Interest in hands-on, active, technical and mechanical work
- Ability to pass initial and ongoing background & drug screens
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
