The Role

The Shift Leader is responsible for all aspects relating to the training and support of our HOODZ Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technicians, ensuring jobs are completed on schedule, customers are satisfied and quality is maintained. The Shift Leader position involves working alongside the crew to get the jobs done by performing all phases of the cleaning cycle from roof-top fans to kitchen exhaust hoods. It is a fast-paced, team-oriented job. This candidate must be a leader and a coach with the ability to provide direction to the team, read and understand safety & work procedures and make decisions on the fly. The team typically cleans 2-3 locations per night. The work is normally performed five days per week, Sunday night – Friday afternoon.

Job duties may include, but not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Initial & ongoing training of service technicians 
  • Ensure all jobs are completed on schedule
  • Perform pre or post job site inspections / complete checklists
  • Fill out and sign service reports
  • Accountable for equipment, product and vehicle inventory
  • Communicate any deviance from original schedule to HOODZ office

Skills / Requirements

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in a supervisor, trainer or team leader role
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Great organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule is required as normal schedule will be varied and will include both day and night work
  • Basic mechanical experience helpful
  • Physical requirements:
    • Lift / carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Work in small or tight areas
    • Kneel / stand for long periods
    • Tolerate hot and cold environments
    • Must be able to climb ladders daily and be comfortable working at heights
  • Reliable transportation to get to our HQ location in Cranston, RI
  • Must have valid driver's license and safe driving record as you will be driving the HOODZ van
  • Pass initial and ongoing background checks (no felonies/violent misdemeanors/outstanding warrants)
