Small Engine Technician
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on maintenance technician to keep our fleet vehicles and field equipment running reliably across our service operations. This role covers a mix of vehicle maintenance and small engine/equipment repair - pressure washers, generators, work vehicles, and other equipment our field technicians depend on daily. It's a great fit for someone who is mechanically versatile, enjoys variety in their work, and wants room to grow with a company expanding into new markets.
What You Will Do
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines used in field operations (pressure washers, generators, and similar equipment)
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to catch issues before they cause downtime
- Coordinate with field technicians and operations staff to schedule repairs with minimal disruption to service routes
- Maintain repair logs, maintenance schedules, and parts/inventory records
- Order parts and manage vendor/shop relationships for repairs beyond in-house capability
- Support DOT compliance and safety standards for the vehicle fleet
- Flag equipment or vehicles nearing end-of-life or needing replacement
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience with vehicle maintenance/light mechanical repair (trucks or fleet vehicles preferred)
- Experience repairing small gas/diesel engines (pressure washers, generators, or similar equipment)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across different types of equipment
- Ability to work independently and manage your own repair priorities
- Comfortable using hand and power tools; own basic tools a plus
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-minded
Nice to Have
- ASE certification(s) or small engine certifications (Briggs & Stratton, Honda, Kohler, etc.)
- Prior experience maintaining a commercial or service-fleet vehicle lineup
- Experience in field services, facilities, or commercial cleaning environments
